Newsletter Vol III Issue 7

It is amazing that summer had came and gone so quickly. Ironically, in Minnesota, the month of September has more warm days (80 degrees or better) than the whole summer! With autumn just around in the corner, our garden's harvesting is near to its end. Hundreds pounds of alfalfa and barley grasses were carefully cut, dried, grinded and stored. Winter rye was planted to prepare the fields for the upcoming cold climate. As you can see in the picture on the right, a pile of freshly harvested alfalfa is sitting on the wagon under warm sun to dry. Know what? The picture on the left shows our neighbor’s cows seem to wish that they were on the other side of the fence to savor our rich smelling alfalfa field. Naturally, we gave them some of our freshly cut alfalfa which they enjoyed immensely!

We are continously improving our newsletters to share information with you. With the new fonts, layout, and pictures we hope that you will enjoy keeping up with Living Food Farm's progress.

I want to share with all of you, Members of Living Food Farm, of my own recent hospital visit. A few weeks ago, I was required to see a doctor for a physical exam, a part of the mandatory procedure for being a basketball coach. My doctor examined me and found nothing wrong with me! In fact, it may sound like a miracle but it's not, just a commitment I've made to my own body for many years now, which is starting to pay off!

I haven't seen a doctor for many years now, for any illness or ailment. The last visit, arguably, was over twenty years ago to see a doctor at a hospital. Honestly, I don't feel very comfortable, feeling awkward of the idea on visiting a doctor for a mere physical exam, but I showed up anyway.

After about a hour of physical exam check-up, the doctor couldn't find anything unhealthy and said that I'm in a good shape. Right after his answer, I told the doctor that I don't take any kind of medicines. I told him that I only take our barley grass and chinese wolfberries to help me to be in the shape I'm in now. The doctor exclaimed that I should keep up on what I was doing!

Other thing, a lot of members asked me if it's okay to order other vitamins from other stores. If I were you, I would not order any vitamins from any company or health store. Take our Barley grass, the Chinese wolfberries or Goji Juice, and Celtic Sea Salt.

Nutrient value in fruits and vegetables has declined greatly in the last fifty years. In the beginning era of vitamins in the 1900s, chemists pinpointed many "unknown substances" found in fruits and vegetables that can help the body. Examples are Vitamin A, B, C or D. Since the value of nutrients has decreased dramatically over the years, the productivity of vitamins has decreased as well. Food is actually more complex than scientists thought, and getting the essential mineral content and nutrients is at its best when taken naturally. It means that vitamins in a pill form don't work. What's more, having a healthy soil is a foundational cornerstone in receiving high nutrients and mineral content from plants. The soil is the key! Also, consumption of sugar, refined flour and hydrogenated fats, and of alcohol, tobacco, and many drugs, depletes the body of nutrients, resulting in higher vitamin and mineral requirements for users. Stress of any sort causes the body to use up available nutrients at a faster-than-normal rate.
