Ben Finkin and Ron's Reminder

Ben Finkin

Greetings from New York City! My name is Ben Finkin and I'm proud to be 90 years old! I congratulate you, customers, for being health conscious and practice better health from our great mentor, Ron Johnson. No matter how rich or poor you are, you are the richest person to enjoy better health!

I was born on February 5, 1916 during a blizzard in my parents' home, not at a hospital. During my childhood, I was in poor health, underweight with frequent headaches. I was never involved in sports because I was too skinny. Also, I was very short, about 5 feet and one inch tall and wasn't even popular with the girls.

During my high school years, I had a growth spurt to the height of 5 feet 9 inches and weighted 120 lbs. I grew up but the bothersome headaches never went away which depressed me often.

Determined to improve my health, I decided to change my lifestyle. Remember that before World War II, vitamins were unheard of at that time. Thankfully, in 1950, the "Prevention" magazine was first published, talking about ways to improve health and vitamins. I learned from that magazine and started to take vitamins. I was trying to find ways to improve my health and soon enough, my friends called me "health nut" ever since. Where are they now? In heaven or being sick with drugs!

About my career, what I learned from high school prepared my skills on drafting that made me a sheet metal draftsman till I was forced to retire at age of 75. It's because of construction depression, pushing me from my position and giving it to younger men with families. I was placed on pension and retirement. I left my job with a heavy heart, but now I'm happy doing community work and spend more time reading books.

Ron Johnson's green barley grass has helped me improve my health even more! Interestingly, about Celtic sea salt...I had a hard time believing Ron that Celtic salt is good to eat and safe, too. One day, when I visited and asked a naturopathic doctor about Celtic sea salt. He knew and supported it! It amazes me that Ron, without any degree, knew about Celtic sea salt. It's obvious that Ron's experiences with farming and health are his best teacher! Make no mistake...follow the great mentor, Ron Johnson, who has patience to help everybody with their health.

Thank you, Ron, for being YOU!

We are celebrating our 65th wedding anniversary this month with two sons (seniors) and five grandchildren, 31 to 12 years of age.

People frequently ask us how to stay married. My answer is a simple one "Never carry a grudge to the next day."

Love, Ben Finkin

Ron's Reminder
Winter and colder temperatures are just around the corner! It usually means flu and common cold season! People accept those ailments as normal circumstances. I say, "No way!" To prevent or to heal faster, order more Chinese wolfberries or Goji Juice from us soon! They're extremely high in vitamins C and strengthen your immune system against common colds. Avoiding people with cold or washing hands frequently doesn't really hold up in the long run.

Remember, our barley grass is important to be combined with Goji juice or wolfberries because barley detoxify or "clean" out the bacteria and viruses from the stomach. Our nutritious barley plays a vital role in the prevention or healing process of colds and flu.

Organic Inspector Visit

Last September 16th, an organic inspector from the MOSA (Midwest Organic Services Association) drove all the way north, from southern Minnesota, to our farm. Her job is to collect evidence and information, to ensure that it meets the criteria to be organic certified which MOSA will determine the official certifications. The inspection occurs every year to make sure organic farmers are updated with their fertilizers and seeds. We were looking forward to her visit because we were excited to show our work and have her taste our raw vegetables from our garden!

The tour of the farm went smoothly and she couldn't stop exclaiming how impressed she was with our garden and barley grass. The inspection were very thorough, making sure she got all the information she needed.

The last part of the visit was the paperwork. As you can see from the picture, we served her raw vegetables from our garden. They were placed generously on the table. She especially couldn't get enough grape tomatoes! She then asked one interesting question. She asked on where did we get those seeds that grew those delicious grape tomatoes? What did we answer her? We replied that it's not which brand or company we bought the seeds from but because those seeds grew from our own rich soil. The very soil that we improved for many years, the same soil that grew the barley grass! The inspector was amazed and realized that we made an excellent point!
