Happy New Year

Here we are in 2007! Happy New Year to all of you! Living Food Farm is entering its 4th year with new year's resolutions that includes better services and quicker accessibility to information about Living Food Farm for customers seeking better health! For health's sake, we hope you include taking barley grass regularly in your resolution!
Ron would like to show you on what he's doing lately at the farm...and as you can see, he's cutting wood into piles on the hay wagon. To preserve the environment and use firewood wisely, the outer slabs of wood are taken from lumberyard's leftovers.
Ron does the woodcutting from the old-fashioned saw attached to back of his tractor. It's tedious and time consuming task and why does he bother doing it?
Firewood is one of important aspects in the drying process of barley grass and alfalfa. Firewood is used in woodstoves, obviously, to dry out the barley grass, always below the 90 degrees Fahrenheit mark. Woodstove-dried air is lot drier and effective than any other electrical or gas heating devices. Lots of firewood needs to be cut and prepared for this summer's drying. Wintertime is the best time to do it because spring to the fall is always hectic at Living Food Farm!
