Cabin Fever, or Strawberry Fever

new cabin picture

The family members of Living Food Farm have been diligently working to prepare ourselves for the upcoming strawberry (and barley powder) fever next year! We're sure that many of you already tasted our delicious dried strawberry/barley leather samples, did you just yet? If not, get busy and place one order of the products from our website, www.livingfoodfarm.com, and receive FREE dried strawberry/barley powder samples while they last! The next season's strawberries will have thousands of plants over about one acre, compared to few hundred plants reserved for this year's samples.

As you can see from the picture above, the newly purchased cabin (still in its beginning stages, aesthetically speaking) will give us all a boost in the productivity of barley powder, Shirley's cookies and several other aspects as well. The neat interior and sturdy structure of the cabin gives us more room to work with growing supply of barley powder to meet demands of our consumers. We care for our barley powder as we hope they're put into good use for better health!

Other thing, we need to remind and encourage consumers to not only try to be faithful with Living Food Farm's barley powder but improve eating and drinking habits on a daily basis. We need to share a couple of links below, with information that are unsettling. Shanada, as one of our "researchers" on health and statistics, wants to share what we feel others should know about sodas and obesity, click on the links below.

Strawberry Leathers, Pesticides, and MSG

Strawberry Leathers Please note that we will not sell strawberry and strawberry/barley leathers just yet until summer of 2008. Please be patient and continue to enjoy the samples while they last, every time you order one of our products. To order one of our products, visit HERE. Here are some comments we got from customers and we would like to share with you what they say about strawberry and strawberry/barley leathers.

"My sister-in-law has been bragging about your strawberries for a long

time, so we knew it will be delish! We ate it first thing when we opened the box and WOW, it confirmed it!"

"Wow I love the sample of strawberry!"

"Yeah! My kids love fruit leathers!! They don't know there's barley in them!"

"I don't really like the taste of barley grass but with strawberry/barley, I can't even taste the barley! I will definitely buy those leathers when they are ready!"

Pesticides in fruits and vegetables

We found a great article about the top 20 fruits and vegetables with the most pesticides, the 20 with the least and what you can do about it. Here is the link to this article from Sixwise.com. Hidden MSG on Food Labels You would not believe how many foods have MSG (monosodium glutamate) as one of the ingredients. MSG is used as a flavor enhancer in almost all processed foods. It helps with your food's flavors but sadly, it is also at work doing potential damage to your brain and body. Many researches have showed that MSG is linked to obesity, depression, blindness, diabetes, headaches/migraine, autism, ADHD, and more. Examples of hidden MSG in ingredients are:
  • Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein Hydrolyzed Protein
  • Hydrolyzed Plant Extract
  • Plant Protein Extract
  • Sodium Caseinate
  • Yeast Extract
  • Texturized Protein
  • Autolyzed Yeast
  • Hydrolyzed Oat Flour
  • Calcium Caseinate
Additives in Soups that Frequently Contain MSG:
  • Malt Extract
  • Bouillon
  • Stock
  • Natural Flavoring Seasonings
  • Malt Flavoring
  • Broth Flavoring
  • Natural Beef or Chicken Flavoring
Avoid them and eat the simplest food out there such as organic vegetables, fruits, beans, unprocessed meats, and not to forget to take barley grass powder and wolfberries to maintain a good health! To read more about MSG, click HERE.
